Elevating Interiors to Inspire
At EZRA KAI STUDIO, we approach each space with a deep curiosity, seeking to reveal the inherent potential within. Our design philosophy revolves around attentive listening and allowing the unique characteristics of the space, natural light, and the client's narrative to shape the design journey. We believe in the power of subtlety and the art of unveiling, creating spaces that resonate with authenticity and tranquility.
Our design process is guided by a blend of intuition and structure. We firmly believe that great design doesn't demand attention; it naturally exudes a sense of presence. By meticulously selecting materials, balancing proportions, and embracing the beauty of stillness, EZRA KAI STUDIO transforms spaces into genuine, grounded, and quietly impactful environments.

OUR STUDIO
Toronto-based, Ezra Kai Studio was founded by husband-and-wife duo Zakariah and Chloe Milana. Named after their children, Ezra and Kaia, the studio was born from a deeply personal vision. Influenced by wabi-sabi, minimal, and modern design, their work is shaped by art, culture, and the world around them. Drawing from backgrounds in fashion and design, they have cultivated a distinctive, refined aesthetic of their own. Ezra Kai Studio brings a thoughtful, highly curated approach to every project—transforming homes into spaces that are both beautiful and deeply functional.

Zakariah Milana
HEAD OF DESIGN
CO-FOUNDER
Zakariah Milana is an award-winning Toronto-based designer and artist whose creative career began in fashion. He founded the clothing brand THE FERAL, with a flagship store in downtown Toronto, where the label gained global recognition and a loyal following, with collections sold across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. In 2017, Milana was awarded Menswear Designer of the Year by the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards (CAFA).

Deeply inspired by interior design and architecture, Milana’s transition from fashion to spatial design was a natural evolution. Raised by his mother, an artist, in a downtown Toronto warehouse, he grew up immersed in a creative environment surrounded by artists and craftsmen. With unrestricted access to tools, materials, and shared knowledge, he spent his early years designing and building furniture, creating sculptures, producing fashion pieces, and experimenting across multiple artistic mediums.

This formative upbringing, paired with studies in interior design and a lifelong passion for creating spaces, ultimately led to the founding of Ezra Kai Studio alongside his wife, Chloe. Today, Milana’s work reflects a refined, multidisciplinary approach—merging art, fashion, and architecture into spaces that feel intentional, grounded, and quietly powerful.
